Anna M. Schmanski, 72, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 9:52 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2021 at West Bend Nursing & Rehabilitation in South Bend, IN. She was born on July 1, 1948 to the late Glenn and Lamoile (Schieber) Bordner in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Paul Schmanski; and a son, Michael Paul Schmanski II in 2016. Anna graduated in 1966 from Riley High School in South Bend. On September 30, 1978, as Anna M. Bordner, she married Michael Paul Schmanski in South Bend, IN. He passed away on July 18, 2009. Anna is survived by her son, Nick (Walida) Schmanski of South Bend, IN; daughter, Nancy Schmucker of Etna Green, IN; two grandchildren, Michael Lance Schmanski and Margaret Lynn Schmanski, both of South Bend, IN; one sister, Dorothy Balish of South Bend, IN; one brother, Thomas (Pat) Bordner of Minnesota; and her daughter-in-law, Adrienne Schmanski of South Bend, IN. Anna enjoyed reading books, especially the Bible. She loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Per Anna’s request, there will be no visitation or services.
