SOUTH BEND - Anna M. “Annie” Ewald, 88, of Mishawaka, passed away on Tuesday, July 26th at the Sanctuary of Holy Cross in South Bend. Annie was born in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Charles and Margaret (Ilosea) Kedik. She graduated from Mishawaka High School. On May 29, 1948 she married August Ewald in South Bend at St. Adelbert's. Annie was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church, a devout catholic, she would help clean the church and parish. Anna is survived by her son, Gary (Diane) Ewald of Round Rock, Texas. She was the proud grandmother of 5; Michelle Gannon (Michael) Lamirand of Denver, Colorado, Adam Czajkowski of Reno, Nevada, Laura Czajkowski of Denver, Colorado, Travis Ewald of Round Rock, Texas, Eric Ewald of San Antonio, Texas and a great grandmother of 2, Mia Lamirand and Eliana Ewald. She is also survived by her siblings, Margie Armstrong of Mishawaka, Alice (Richard) Washburn of Indianapolis, James Kedik of South Bend, and Mary Jane (Robert) Hood, of Ft. Wayne. Anna was preceded in death by her twin sister, Margaret, her husband, August, her daughter, Mary Ann Czajkowski and three brothers, John, Charles, and Michael Kedik. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, August 1st in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8:00PM. Friends may also visit with the family on Tuesday, August 2nd from 10:00 AM until service time in the church. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held 11:00 AM, with Fr. Jacob Meyer officiating. She will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.Published in South Bend Tribune on July 30, 2016
