Alice P. Vojtko
Alice P. Vojtko, 79, of South Haven, formerly of Bangor, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the South Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Alice was born June 4, 1933 in Chicago, Ill. the daughter of John and Lydia (Ackerman) Nennich and lived the majority of her life on the farm in Bangor. She worked as a RN at the South Haven Hospital for over 40 years. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Church, loved to crochet and knit, and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Surviving are her five children - Stephen (Marie) Vojtko of New Carlise, Ind., Julia (Ronald) Quinn of South Haven, John (Rebecca) Vojtko of St. Joseph, Susan (Robert) Bennett of St. Ignace, and Linda (Jeffrey) Hoffman of Loves Park, Ill.; eleven grandchildren - Jennifer, Kathryn, Vincent Vojtko, Alan, Patrick, Phillip Quinn, Andrew, Joseph, Christopher, Mary Elizabeth Vojtko, Onaca Bennett; six great-grandchildren, Lola, Nolan, Destiny, Collin, Anakin, and one due in February; a brother, Terrance (LoraLee) Nennich of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Vojtko in 2002; two brothers - John Jr., James; and four sisters - Jackie, Joanne, Janet, and her twin Arlene. The family met friends Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was 11:00 a.m. Saturday, at Sacred Heart Church of Bangor. Interment followed in the Arlington Hill Cemetery, Bangor. The family suggests memorials be made to the Sacred Heart Church, Lake Michigan Catholic Schools, St. Joseph, or South Haven Area Emergency Services. www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com
