CASSOPOLIS, Mich. -- Frank S. Kovach, 90, of Diamond Shores in Cassopolis, died at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at West Woods of Niles following a brief illness. Mr. Kovach was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Mol, Hungary, to Ferenc and Ilona (Waro) Kovach. In 1951, he moved from Hungary to South Bend, Ind., and has spent the last nine years in Cassopolis. He owned and operated Pure Water Company in St. Joseph for 25 years. He also was co-owner and operated Olympic Style Incorporated and owned Buyers Guide, both in Elkhart, Ind. Frank was a member of the Elks Lodge 425 in Elkhart. He had served in the Hungarian Army. His greatest passion was being an entrepreneur.Mr. Kovach is survived by his children, Akos (Nancy) Kovach of Niles and Attila (Melinda) Kovach and Clara (Jeff) Costello, both of Granger, Ind.; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family is gathering privately for services. There will be no visitation. Arrangements were made by Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles. Contributions in memory of Frank may be given to Hospice At Home or the American Cancer Society.
