Martha E. Rankin, 90, of Tanglewood Lane, Mishawaka, Ind., formerly of Jackson Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 3:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka. Martha was born on June 14, 1911, in Francesville, Ind., as the daughter of the late Charles and Cora (Scott) Lineback. Martha was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sadie McDonald and Pearl Garling; and by a brother, Ivan Lineback. Martha was a lifetime area resident and worked for Wire Craft in Lakeville, Ind. Martha is survived by four daughters, Donna Fonseca of Mishawaka, Carol Taylor of Columbus, Ind., Jo Ann Edens of Clearwater, Fla., and by seven grandchildren, including adopted grandchild, Mellonie Kay Hoffman of Fox Lake, Ill.; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held. Rev. Barry England will officiate. The Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawaka, is handling arrangements.Contributions may be made in Martha's memory to St. Bavo's Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th Street, Mishawaka, IN 46544.

I am not a daughter of Martha Rankin, I'm a granddaughter whom she adopted. I assume you got most of your info from Ancestry.com and that it is correct. Also, my name is misspelled; it's Mellonie. The number of grandchildren is off; she had seven, Candy, Todd, Crystal, Me, Steph, Jim, Lisa (deceased) from her three daughters, Jean, Carol (deceased), and JoAnn (deceased). I'm not sure how many great-grandchildren she has, as I don't communicate with most of her family anymore; I know I had four children, my sister Steph had five, and my brother Jim had one, which would make ten total. She does have two great-grandchildren I know of, because they're my grandchildren. Thanks for the burial correction.
