GRANGER, IN - Evelyn D. Klosowski, age 89, passed away peacefully on November 15th. Evelyn was born on Nov 6, 1930 in South Bend to the late Bruno and Bernice (Stawicki) Zywert. She married James “Kelly” Klosowski on June 25th, 1955 in St. Casimir’s Catholic Church, and had they had a wonderful marriage of 55 years until his death on June 6, 2010. Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Diane (Tom) Lutomski and Laurie (Scott) Ruoff; and her grandchildren, Brian (Abby) Lutomski, Kate Lutomski, Kristin (Rhyse) Elbert, and Rachel Ruoff; and a new great grandson, Colby James. She is also survived by her sister, Esther Michalski, and many nieces and nephews. Her siblings, Wanda Wozniak and George Zywert, preceded her in death. Evelyn graduated from South Bend Catholic High School in 1948. Evelyn and Kelly had a fun life together and enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and Florida, and going on tropical cruises. Evelyn was an excellent Polka dancer and attended many polish events with Kelly and their friends and family. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, PNA Club #83, Forever Learning Polonaise Club, and the Red Hat Society. Evelyn was very talented with crafts that included sewing, knitting, crocheting, and ceramics. Evelyn loved spending time with family and friends, and especially being with her grandchildren who she loved dearly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Wednesday, November 20th at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 52553 Fir Rd, Granger. There will be visitation at the church starting at 10am. Evelyn will be laid to rest at the Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at St. Joseph Cemetery. In heaven, she will be joyfully reunited with her loving husband, Kelly, and other deceased family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X at 52553 Fir Rd Granger, IN 46530 or to The Christ Child Society at PO Box 1286, South Bend IN 46624.
