[N5542] Nov. 24, 1940 - March 28, 2013
SOUTH BEND - Former South Bend resident, Sharon K. Chudzicki, 72, of Rio Rancho, NM, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, in her residence surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born Nov. 24, 1940, in South Bend, to the late Rowene M. (Yore) and Arthur F. Hauck, and had lived in South Bend until moving to Rio Rancho in 2004. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James A. Hauck, in 2009. On July 9, 1960, in South Bend, as Sharon K. Hauck, she married Bert Chudzicki, who survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Debbie Chudzicki of Rio Rancho, and many nieces and nephews. Sharon loved to read, and actually went through 2 Kindles and 2 iPads. She and her family spent nearly the entire 70s at Northside Little League in Mishawaka. In 1982 Sharon went back to college at IUSB and was initiated into the Phi Eta Sigma Freshman Honor Society, and then graduated from IUSB in 1985 Summa Cum Laude. Sharon was employed as Director of Quality Assessment for Health Quest Corp. She loved watching Notre Dame football and basketball. Even after moving to New Mexico in 2004, she had several opportunities to travel and see them play. She and her family built a home where she loved the view of 4 mountain ranges and 6 cities. She loved working in the yard and planting flowers, and New Mexico gave her a place to do that nearly year-round. Sharon had a wonderful outgoing personality and made friends easily. She will be missed by many. Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday, April 27th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Rev. Wendy Bruner of Zion United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on the 27th. Memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice Care, 4220 Edison Lakes Parkway, Suite 200, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Family and friends may leave e-mail condolences at www.welsheimer.com.
