SOUTH BEND - Frank E. Zarzyka, 80, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2008, in his residence. Frank was born on September 17, 1927, in Hamtramck, MI, to the late Michael and Antonia (Kruk) Zarzyka. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Stella Pawlak. On August 19, 1950, he married Elaine, who survives along with their children, Diane (Rick) Forsythe of South Bend, Ken (Cindy) Zack of Placerville, CA, Jim (Kathy) Zarzyka of South Bend and David (Debbie) Zarzyka of Granger; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and by his sister, Mary Mosca of Warren, Ml. Frank was a plumber and he earned his Fifty Year Certificate. He was a member of Local #172 and American Legion 357. Frank enjoyed going for coffee with friends three times a week; he also loved golfing and woodworking. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 12, from 3 to 8 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, March 13, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
