SOUTH BEND - Elaine Mary Zarzyka, 88, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015, in the Hearth at Juday Creek. Elaine was born November 13, 1926, in South Bend, to the late Sylvester and Laura Woltman. On August 19, 1950, Elaine married her loving husband of 58 years, Frank Zarzyka, who preceded her in death on March 9, 2008. Elaine was also preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Ewald, on March 24, 2015. Survivors of Elaine include her children, Ken (Cindy Pizer) Zack of Placerville, CA, Jim (Kathy) Zarzyka of South Bend, Diane (Rick) Forsythe of South Bend, and David (Debbie) Zarzyka of Granger; seven grandchildren and a great-grandson. Elaine was a homemaker and, in her earlier years, employed with Wyman's and Ball Bands. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Elaine was an avid Notre Dame football fan. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, playing the slots at the casino, watching "I Love Lucy," and especially Sunday afternoon rides with her husband. Most of all, she adored her grandchildren and great-grandson. A private Funeral Ceremony for Elaine will be in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
