R. Jean Vernasco, 95 years old, of Granger, IN passed away Sunday, September 12. She was born December 18, 1925 in South Bend, IN to the late William and Grace Davis. On January 8, 1946 in South Bend, Jean married Elmo Vernasco, who preceded her in death. Jean is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Robert) Pellegrino of Granger, IN and Karen (John) Wojtas of Kalamazoo, MI; son, Alan (Patricia) Vernasco of Mishawaka, IN; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and brother, Donald Davis of San Diego, CA. In addition to her husband and parents, Jean is preceded in death by three sisters and one brother. Jean loved her family and was a wonderful mother, wife, and grandmother. She took great joy in socializing with people and making new friends. Jean was a wonderful cook. A private memorial will be held by her family. Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
