SOUTH BEND - Dorothy S. Weesner, 92, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, in Golden Living Fountainview. Dorothy was born May 15, 1924, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Stanley and Stella (Lechtanski) Stajkowski. Dorothy was also preceded in death by daughter, Sharon McGovern, sister, Irene V. Stajkowski, and brothers, Benedict Stajkowski, Raymond Stajkowski and Jerome Stajkowski. On November 22, 1947, Dorothy married the love of her life, Hilton Weesner, who preceded her in death. Survivors of Dorothy include her sister, Angela Stajkowski; nieces, Amy Lynn Stajkowski, and Deborah (John) Groves; nephews, James (Donna) Stajkowski, and Michael (Suzanne) Stajkowski; sisters-in-law, Shirley and Nancy; 6 great-grandnieces and nephews; 9 great-great-grandnieces and nephews. Dorothy was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was an excellent seamstress who could sew anything for her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and enjoyed watching all sports especially football. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Entombment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, 56405 Mayflower Road, South Bend, IN 46619.
