Frank Andrew Malkewicz Jr., age 69, of Bluffton passed away peacefully at his home on April 1, 2022 after a long battle with terminal illness. Frank was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on May 22, 1952 to Delores Catherine Twardowski Malkewicz and the late Francis Andrew Malkewicz Sr. Frank moved to South Bend, Indiana at an early age and completed his education at Indiana University South Bend. He married, Lisa Marie Spohnholz in 1985. They raised their family in South Bend, Indiana and in their church of St. Jude Parish where Frank served as a member of the choir and an usher for many years. He also served as a council member and Grand Knight in The Knights of Columbus, Council 5521. Frank enjoyed racing sailboats and golfing. In 2013, the couple moved to South Carolina for the weather and new opportunities. Frank is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lisa Malkewicz; his five children; three sons-in-law; and seven grandchildren: Jennifer Kaplachinski (spouse David, grandchildren Ellie and Olivia); Katherine Weiss (spouse Daniel, grandchildren Hanah and David); Stephanie Stanger (spouse Cullen, grandchildren Caleb, Levi, and Rachel); Michael Malkewicz; and Rebecca Malkewicz. He is also survived by his mother, Dolores Gilman; and four siblings: Mary Therese Skinner, Thomas Gilman, Douglas Gilman, and Lisa Gilman. A memorial mass followed by refreshments will be held in his honor on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 1:00PM at St. Jude Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Diabetes Association, in memory of our beloved Frank.
