LAKEVILLE - Clem M. Borton, 94, of Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton, formerly of 202 S. Lake St., died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the nursing home. Mr. Borton retired in 1961 after being self-employed for 30 years in the concrete block construction industry. He was born Oct. 22, 1899, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On Oct. 5, 1918, in Lakeville, he married Mabel Platz. She died in 1963. He is survived by two daughters, Celia Konopinski of Lakeville and Ruth Wharton of Plymouth; a son, Walter of South Bend; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Porter-Rae Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
