LAKEVILLE - Celia Borton Konopinski, 92, of Lakeville, IN passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at her home. She was born in Lakeville, IN to Clem and Mable (Platz) Borton on May 14, 1926. At the age of 16, she left home to better herself. She was united in marriage to Bert Konopinski on December 23, 1945. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2003. Celia is survived by her daughter, Irma Jean (Graham) McNeil of Granger, IN and son, Robert “Rob” (Deborah) Konopinski of Plymouth, IN; four grandchildren; seven great-grandsons; one great-great-grandson; and sister-in-law, Barb Borton of South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Walter Borton; and sister, Ruth Wharton. Celia had many jobs in her lifetime, retiring at the age of seventy-nine. She worked for Burcliff Industries, East Heat, Clean Seal, and and several restaurants. She enjoyed knitting and playing cards, but most of all she loved ceramics. Celia was very much a people person and loved having company. She was a member of Lakeville United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00p.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan St., Lakeville, IN. Rev. Brian White will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Friday prior to the services. Contributions in memory of Celia Konopinski may be offered to the charity of the donor's choice.
