Edward Thomas Schmunck, 93, of South Bend, entered into eternal rest on April 19, 2022. He was born on December 7, 1928 to the late Henry and Mollie Schmunck in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Edward married the love of his life, Maranette "Marty" Schmunck on July 3, 1971. He worked construction for many years and discovered a passion for landscaping later in his life. Edward proudly served in the United States Army for 3 years and helped rebuild Europe. He was the Commander for American Legion Post 50 and served on the House Committee for Veteran's Foreign Wars Post 624. Edward loved hunting, fishing with friends, and cooking meals for elderly veterans. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maranette "Marty" Schmunck; children, Thomas L. Goodsell, Becky Six, and Jessie M. Alwine; and his brother, Rudolph Schmunck. Edward is survived by his grandchildren, Melissa (Victor) Goodsell Huston, Kahlil Goodsell, Mary (Rick) Kinser, Marcie (Jeremy) Fry; and Jackie (Chris) Bone; and 8 great grandchildren. To honor Edward's wishes, all services will be held privately. Services have been entrusted to Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.
