SOUTH BEND - Irvin N. Staszewski, 79, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013. Irvin was born on February 20, 1934, in South Bend, to John & Marianna (Jasinski) Staszewski. Irvin was the German Township Trustee for many years. He was a guard at the St. Joseph County Jail and had also been employed with Lock Joint Tube and Meijer. On February 12, 1955, Irvin married Nancy A. Paczkowsk,i who preceded him in death on February 24, 2012. Irvin is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Paul) Swartz of South Bend, Indiana; sons, Noel Dean (Jayme) Staszewski of Flint, Michigan, Randy (Margie) Staszewski of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Jeffrey Staszewski of South Bend, Indiana; eight grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Eleanor Choinacky, Henrietta Steinhofer and Geraldine Rothballer; and a brother, Clement Staszewski. Irvin was preceded in death by sisters, Theresa Lentych, Gertrude Gloyeski, Angeline Paturalski, and Lucille Stankiewicz; and a brother, Eugene Staszewski. Visitation for Irvin will be held from 3-7 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. The family would like to thank Val & the staff of Country Care West and the Center for Hospice Care for their wonderful care of Irvin.
