June 23, 1918 -- Nov. 2, 2004 - Julia H. Wieczorek, 86, of North Brookfield Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, in Fountainview Place. Julia was born on June 23, 1918, in South Bend, to Joseph and Angela (Lemanski) Smiecinski, who preceded her in death. On June 15, 1940, as Julia Smiecinski, she married Clement Wieczorek, who passed away on May 5, 1966. Surviving Julia are two brothers, Joseph Smiecinski of South Bend and Chester Smiecinski of Michigan City, Ind., and many nephews. Julia was employed at Wilson Brothers, the Enro Shirt Company and retired from Koseygi Leather Company. She was a member of the Adoration Society of St. Mary's Polish National Church and the Harvest House of Holy Family Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, in the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
