South Bend - Cliff ‘Papa’ Hannah, 77, passed away at 8:15pm, Sunday, May 6, 2012 in Memorial Hospital. Cliff was born July 22, 1934 in Grand Rapids, MN to the late Clifford R. and Jeanette (Mishow) Hannah, Sr. Cliff is also preceded in death by a sister Delores Scherf. On September 22, 1962 in South Bend, IN, Cliff married Evelyn Korpal, she survives. Cliff is also survived by daughters, Christine (Bill) Heavner of Fremont, OH, Geraldine (Bill) Frame of South Bend, IN, and Laura (Thomas) Lucynski of South Bend, IN and son, Michael Melton of Lakeville, IN; grandchildren, Jessica (Russ) Kiser, Amy (Rob) Grannan and Melanie Godden; sisters, Viola Hanson of Omaha, NE, Shirley (Roger) Lane of Blackberry, MN, Janis Karnish of VA and Kathleen Hannah of Omaha, NE; and brother Robert Hannah of Omaha, NE. Cliff honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He was a paratrooper and sharp shooter. Cliff was a member of the DAV White Eagle Chapter 39 of South Bend IN. Cliff enjoyed fishing at his lake cottage. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. is assisting the family. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2122 W.
