Nancy C. Gorny, 87 years old, passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Cedarhurst of Edison Lakes, Mishawaka. Nancy was born on September 13, 1933 in Munising, MI to the late Norman E. and Claudia Marie (Revord) Gerndt. She has lived most of her life in Mishawaka. On October 6, 1951 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka, Nancy and Robert F. Gorny, Sr. were united in marriage. Her husband preceded her in death on December 6, 2018 after 67 years of marriage. Also preceding her in death were two daughters, Teresa M. Grill and Valerie A. Standfield; and her son-in-law, Richard M. “Rick” Standfield. Two sisters, Donna M. Wilder and Dorothy Van Tilburg; and one brother, Norman E. Gerndt also preceded her in death.Nancy is survived by her three children, Laura (Ricky) Montgomery, Robert F. (June) Gorny, Jr, and Frank (Joanne) Gorny, all of Mishawaka; thirteen grandchildren, Edward (Jennifer) Montgomery, Adam (Mandy) Montgomery, Mary (fiancé: Tim Hull)) Van Vooren, Nathan (fiancé: Sarah Brown) Gorny, Crystale (Allie) Gorny, Nick (Michelle) Standfield, Ryan Grill, Joseph Grill, Danielle (Dylan Lewis) Grill, Pam Dziadosz, Linda (Brandon) Grove, Amanda (Andrew) Murray, and Robbie (Kelly) Sipkema; twenty two great grandchildren, Mitchell, Thomas (Demi), Dylan, Noyel, Andrew, Owen, and Chloe Montgomery, Alexis and Hunter Van Vooren, Kaden Gorny, Landon, Aydan, and Aryana Grill, Madison and Camden Anderson, Tristan Dziadosz, London Grove, Robert Beck, Aidan, Reaghan, Rylan and Lincoln Murray; two great-great grandchildren, Arya and Atalie, with a third on the way. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, IN. Rev. Chris Lapp will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 24th, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Nancy C. Gorny may be donated to the Capital Campaign Fund at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S.
