FREDRICK HUGO KLETKA, JR. 1930-2003
Fredrick Hugo Kletka Jr. of Ridgecrest died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003 of lung cancer at Ridgecrest Healthcare. He was 73. No services are planned. Kletka was born July 28, 1930 in South Bend, Ind. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 until 1954 and was a Korean War Veteran. During his military service he was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Korean Service Medal with five Bronze Stars. He lived at Oceanshores, Wash., and Anchorage, Alaska prior to moving to Ridgecrest. Kletka worked as a contract maintenance specialist at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska, prior to his retirement in 1992. Kletka was a member of the Tehachapi Model Railroad Club and others. He enjoyed making trains, including layouts, for museums. He also made guns and enjoyed sailing. Kletka is survivd by his wife Georgie Cabe Kletka of Ridgecrest, son Eric Kletka of Anchorage, Alaska, daughter and son-in-law Karla and Don Ruhoff of Anchorage, Alaska, daughter and son-in-law Kirina and Bryan Bazzell of Anchorage, Alaska, son and daughter-in-law Kris and Kathy Kletka of Peyton, Colo., brother and sister-in-law Ivan and Susan Kletka of Ione, Wash., aunt Charlotte Kletka of South Bend, Ind., nine grandchildren Renaye Lavin and Brody Ward of Anchorage, Alaska, Brennen, Bryce and Kaylyn Bazzell of Anchorage, Alaska, Sarah, Hannah, Bethany and Seth Kletka of Peyton, Colo.
