2016 Spring Conference

We had a great Spring Conference March 19, 2016. The Saint Joseph Community Public Library was a perfect host. Colfax Auditorium was a great venue for speakers Jeanne Larzalere Bloom (Lost Children: Orphans, Vagrants, Delinquents, Half-Orphans, Surrendered, Adopted) and Katherine Willson (Which Way Did She Go??? Finding Those Elusive Maiden Names). Both speakers received very positive feedback from the attendees. If you were not able to attend, handouts from both programs are posted on the members only section of our website (bottom of this page). There were some great door prizes and raffle items donated by a variety of genealogy and local organization. Each attendee received a free door prize ticket while raffle tickets were available for purchase. Continuing a popular program started last year at the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Library, a computer laboratory was available to attendees to get help with personal research. New this year, was a ‘Conference Cafe’ to allow attendees to relax over lunch and share genealogy stories.
