ELKHART - Ernest Eugene "Gene" Probst, 82, died at 1:25 p.m. Sunday in Hubbard Hill Estates. Survivors include a brother, William H. Probst of Osceola; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation or services. Billings Funeral Home is handling arrangements. He was a U.S. Marie Corp World War II veteran, serving in the South Pacific including Iwo Jima. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.

He was born July 22, 1924, in Williamsport, Pa., to Ernest and Ella (Oder) Probst. He is survived by a brother, William H. Probst, Osceola. His wife Josephine preceded him in death.
