SOUTH BEND - Kevin Michael Slisz, 20, of South Bend, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012, in Bremen, Indiana. He was born on February 2, 1992, in South Bend, to Jerry Lee Slisz and Ann Marie Douglas, who survive. He also leaves behind his sister, Kristin Elizabeth of Chicago, IL, and his brother, Eric Slisz of Holland, MI. Kevin was a phenomenal guitarist and artist. He was a thrill seeker who lived to bike and skateboard. Most of all he loved his family and friends and will be dearly missed! Visitation will be from 12 to 2 pm Wednesday, October 10, 2012, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services for Kevin will follow at 2 pm in the funeral home. Victim in bicycle fatality identified

BREMEN -- Kevin Slisz, 20, of South Bend, has been identified as the bicyclist killed Thursday when struck by a sport-utility vehicle on Indiana 331 near Tyler Road, north of Bremen. He was pronounced dead of massive head and neck injuries, police said. The accident that occurred about 12:50 p.m. is still under investigation. The driver of the SUV has been identified as 33-year-old Holly Rae Huntington, of Bremen. She was treated for minor injuries at Memorial Hospital. Slisz was reportedly walking his bike south in the northbound lanes of Indiana 331 when he was struck. The St. Joseph County Police Department is still asking anyone with information regarding the accident to contact Capt. James Rutkowski at 574-235-9871.
