July 16, 1943 - June 4, 2009 KOONTZ LAKE - Marianne Wentland, 65, residing at Koontz Lake, IN., passed away at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at her home. She was born July 16, 1943 in South Bend, the daughter of Frank and Gladys (Hoswell) Wukovits, and lived in South Bend most of her life. Marianne graduated from St. Joseph High School and attended college in New York. On January 27, 1968 in South Bend, she married Kenneth Joseph Wentland. Kenneth passed away October 21, 2005. Marianne is survived by two sons, Mark (Joyce) Wentland and Chris (Amanda) Wentland, both of Phoenix, AZ, her treasured grandchildren, James Joseph "JJ" and Sophia Marie, a sister, Theresa Myers of South Bend, IN, and a brother, Frank Wukovits of South Bend, IN. Also surviving are her in-laws, Karen Wentland of South Bend, IN., Norm (Janet) Wentland of Dayton, OH, and Nancy (Mark) McFarland of Bay City, MI, and all of her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Marianne and Kenneth owned and operated B.K. Graphics in South Bend for more than twenty years. She was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Koontz Lake. She also attended St. Patrick's Church in Walkerton. Marianne was very supportive of her sons and their friends and remained close to John, Doug, Chad and their families. She was a big Chicago Cubs fan, and loved entertaining family and friends in her home at the lake. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. (South Bend Time) Monday, June 8, at St. Dominic's Catholic Church, Koontz Lake. Rev. Anthony Spanley will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in South Bend, IN. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. today at the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, and one hour prior to Mass on Monday at the Church.
