MISHAWAKA - Irene M. Rodts, 77, of 14th St., Mishawaka, passed away at 4:31 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, in St. Joseph Community Hospital, Mishawa-ka, Ind. Mrs. Rodts was born on Aug. 27, 1919, in Mishawaka, and was a lifelong area
resident. On Nov. 30, 1940, in St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, as Irene Goethals, she married Maurice Rodts.
Mr. Rodts survives along with a daughter, Joyce Biesbrouck of Mishawaka and her children, Jim Biesbrouck and Stacy Nyerges; a daughter Barbara and son-in-law, Rex Roberts, of Elkhart and their children, Amy Roberts and Jill Randall; a son, Stephen Rodts of Mishawaka and his children, Ryan, Jacob, Stephanie and Allison Rodts; a son, Daniel and daughter-in-law, Mary Ann of Niles, and their children, Brian, Sean, Danny, Madie and Sammy Rodts Mrs. Rodts was preceded in death by a son, Philip, on Sept. 6, 1993. She is also survived by his children, Dale, Kurt, Keith, Wendy and Jeremy Rodts, and by six great-grandchildren. brother, Peter Goethals, and two sisters, Genevieve Michels and Clara Cox,
also preceded her in death. Mrs. Rodts was a member of St. Bavo's Catholic Church. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at St. Bavo's Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. James Shafer officiating. Burial will follow at
Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today, with a rosary to be recited at 3:30
p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County, or to St. Bavo's Catholic Church.
