Irene V. Stajkowski, 79, formerly of Chapin Street, South Bend, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2001, in St. Joseph's Care Center, South Bend, IN. She was born on February 14, 1922, in South Bend. Her parents were Stella (Lechtanski) and Stanley Stajkowski, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Weesner of South Bend and Angela Stajkowski of South Bend; three brothers, Ben Stajkowski of South Bend, Raymond Stajkowski of South Bend and Jerome Stajkowski of Elkhart, Ind.; several nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.

Irene was an employee of the former Enro Shirt Factory in South Bend.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. on Sunday May 13, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2001, in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic church. Entombment will follow in the Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
