John D. Dylewski, 53 of 1417 E. Monroe St., died at 6:28 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mr. Dylewski was a carpenter for Reinke Construction Corp. He was born Oct. 24, 1939, in South Bend. On April 9, 1977, in South Bend, he married Barbara A. Phillips. She survives with a daughter, Sharon Dylewski of Mishawaka; two sons, John D. Dylewski Jr. and Robert A. Dylewski, both of Mishawaka; a stepson, Michael S. Phillips of South Bend; five grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Reed of Mishawaka, Mary Scott of South Bend, and Irene Ege of Granger; and five brothers, Joseph and Eugene, both of Edwardsburg, Ted of Niles, Richard of South Bend, and Louis of Huntsville, Ala. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a Washington High School graduate. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association.
