Mildred M. “Millie” (Pezzi) Bursie, of North Providence, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Hebert Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Matteo Bursie. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James and Carmela (Larco) Pezzi. Mrs. Bursie worked as director of the Board of Canvassers for the town of North Providence for 42 years before retiring. She is survived by her son, Frank R. Bursie and his wife Cathy; a son-in-law, Michael Ruszkowski; two sisters, Elena Amoriggi and Evelyn Merolla; four grandchildren, Christopher Ruszkowski, Kori Schmidtendorff, Brandon Bursie and Brett Bursie; and four great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Janice Ruszkowski and the sister of the late Raymond, Edward and Vincent “Jimmy” Pezzi and Angela Iannazzi.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation Respectfully Omitted. In lieu of flowers donations in Mrs. Bursie’s memory may be made to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904. maceroni.com
