Daniel B. Wawrzyniak, 78, was the son of Bert and Celia Wawrzyniak, who are deceased. He married Lucille Marie (Kappmeyer) Wawrzyniak in Indianapolis on April 18, 1953, and she died on May 20, 1986. In Pittsboro on Feb. 14, 1987, he married Maxine (Blanton) Wawrzyniak and she survives. He was reared and educated in South Bend, where he graduated from Central Catholic High School and then matriculated to Purdue University. At Purdue he studied agriculture, served in the Army ROTC, and was a pitcher for the Boilermaker Baseball Team. After graduating, he began work in Indianapolis where he met his first wife. After serving with the U.S. Army in Korea, the couple settled in Lebanon in 1956 where they reared their two children. He spent a wonderful 42-year career working with his beloved friends at United Feeds (now JBS United) in Sheridan, selling swine feed and nutrients. He was always ready to share a joke and his knowledge and was a regular presence on the country roads throughout central Indiana where he visited farm clients and their families. He was an avid Boilermaker and Lebanon Tiger fan and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed his family and numerous friends. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Ulen Country Club (past president), Boone County Pork Producers Association (past president), Purdue Ag Alumni Association, Boone County Purdue Alumni Club (past president) and the John Purdue Club. Survivors are also his mother-in-law, Pauline Kappmeyer of Indianapolis; children Anne M. Gutierrez and husband Guillermo of San Antonio, Texas and LTC (Ret) Michael J. Wawrzyniak and wife Lynn of Cary, N.C.; stepsons Dave Roseboom and wife Shirley of Indianapolis, Rick Roseboom and wife Daphnee of Lizton, Dean Roseboom and wife Cindy and Rex Roseboom and wife Pat, all of Danville; brothers Richard Wawrzyniak and wife Jean of Indianapolis, Robert Wawrzyniak and wife Lavern of New Albany and Raymond Wawrzyniak of Forest Park, Ill.; four grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mary Wawrzyniak, is deceased.
