[N5457] David M. Kosanovich
July 28, 1954 - April 1, 2013
SOUTH BEND - David Michael Kosanovich, 58, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was the son of Geraldine (William) Slater and John M. Kosanovich of South Bend, who survive. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine (Terry) McConnell of Round Rock, TX; and brother, Robert (Renee) Kosanovich of South Bend; and two nephews, Joshua (Deanna) Kosanovich of Denver, CO, and Benjamin Kosanovich of South Bend. David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Peter (Elsie) Kosanovich, and maternal grandparents, John (Harriet) Przygoda. David was a 1973 graduate of LaSalle High School, where he played varsity football. He played the coronet, loved muscle cars and motorcycles. In his younger years, he owned a 1964 GTO and a 1968 Z28, of which he was very proud. Dave enjoyed NASCAR, the South Bend Silverhawks, Notre Dame football, the outdoors, and especially family gatherings. David was a very kind, sincere and friendly person. He knew no strangers. He was very caring, helpful and had a sharp, witty sense of humor. Dave had an infectious laugh that everyone loved. All who knew him, loved him. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who cared for him throughout the years. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who cared for him. Family and friends may call from 4-8 Thursday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association .
