SOUTH BEND - Evelyn M. Enders-Fries Grzeskiewicz, 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Trailpoint Village in South Bend. Evelyn was born on April 26, 1940, in Mishawaka, to Ralph Robert and Edna (Shultz) Enders. She was preceded in death by her parents. On August 16, 1968, in South Bend, as the former Evelyn Enders-Fries, she married Michael Grzeskiewicz. Surviving are her husband of almost 49 years, Michael; daughters, Tina (James) Fries-Thornton of Boca Raton, FL, and Darcy (John) Grzeskiewicz-Suetkamp Sheets of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Kennedy, Caitlyn, Morgan, Kendall, Bryan and Brett; great-grandchildren, Macie, Zuri, Pacey and Payden; and a brother, Ralph (Joann) Enders of Wisconsin. Evelyn graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1958. She was a lifelong member of Hilltop Lutheran Church of the Ascension. She had many work experiences including Bendix, Dodge, South Bend Regional Airport, but she was most proud of her position as Executive Secretary at Wheelabrator. She was a volunteer for the Mental Health Association. She has a charitable heart and did not know a stranger. Her warm, friendly nature will be forever remembered in the hearts of friends and family. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 1, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A private memorial will take place at a later date.
