DEMOTTE - Anne Vander Lugt, age 94, of DeMotte, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, at the Oak Grove Christian Retirement Village in DeMotte. Anne was born May 8, 1922, in Kampen, Netherlands, the daughter of Asje and Wilhelmina (Koekoek) Van Enk. On July 5, 1944, in Grand Rapids, MI Anne married the love of her life, Leonard Vander Lugt and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2014. Anne was a housewife and homemaker and was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in DeMotte. She cherished her times with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially the annual Christmases in Shipshewana. Anne is survived by her 6 children: Dr. Lee (Louise) Vander Lugt of Chikasha, OK, Wilma Jean (Roger) Huizenga of Walkerton, IN, Lynn Ann Rudoni of Stanwood, MI, Dr. Gerrit (Barbara) Vander Lugt of Alma, MI, Margery Jo (Robert) Stanton of Jackson, MI, and Dr. David (Penny) Vander Lugt of DeMotte, IN; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers in law, (Bud) Spaanstra of Grandville, MI, and Harold (Marian) Mulder of Alto, MI; and a sister-in-law, Marian Van Enk of Grandville, MI. Anne is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 5 brothers, 3 sisters and a son-in-law, Steve Rudoni. Friends may call at the First Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM CST. Funeral Services will follow at the First Christian Reformed Church of DeMotte at 1:00 PM CST on May 2, 2017, with Pastor Laryn Zoerhof officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN. Memorials in loving memory of Anne may be made to DeMotte Christian School and/or Covenant Christian School.
