Opal L. Kolaskey, 81, formerly of Benton Harbor, passed away at Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003. Mrs. Kolaskey was born Sept. 28, 1922, in South Bend, Ind., to John O. and Anna Marie (Simonson) Rodberg. She is survived by her daughter; three sons; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Olive B. Nelson of Redlands, Calif.; and a brother, Wilmer R. (Joyce) Rodberg of Slidell, La. Opal was preceded in death by her parents; and her former husband, George Hubert Kolaskey. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 27, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Martin Weigand officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St. Joseph, Mich. Burial will be at Bonnett Prairie Lutheran Cemetery in Rio, Wis.
