SOUTH BEND - Elaine T. Guentert, 78, passed away at 12:30 pm Monday, September 23, 2013, in the Ironwood Health & Rehab Center. Elaine was born on December 18, 1934, in South Bend, to Walter and Edna Chmiel. She was an employee of Uniroyal. Surviving are a brother, Eugene "Pete" Chmiel of Fort Wayne, and a cousin, Pat Wolf of Niles. Funeral services will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, September 30, 2013, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 South Kemble Avenue. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
