Helen M. Wesszo, 67, of Brookfield Street, South Bend, IN, passed away at 10:37 p.m. Friday, July 9, in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wesszo had been employed by Penny Saver and Ball Band. She was born on June 15, 1937, in Mill Creek, IN, to Gustav and Mary Borkowski. On June 18, 1955, in South Bend, she married Julius Wesszo, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Deborah Wesszo of South Bend; a son, Julius (Lisa) Wesszo Jr. of South Bend; two grandchildren, Jennifer Wesszo of South Bend, and Krista Schmidt of La Porte, IN; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Gavin; and three brothers, Edward (Gail) Borkowski of La Porte, Art (Doreen) Borkowski of New Carlisle, IN, and Rich (Sharlene) Borkowski of Mill Creek.Helen was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Schmidt, and by two brothers, Raymond and Gustav; and one sister, Josephine Pietrowski. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Ave. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 12, in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
