Family: Piechorowski
The body of Iwo Jima hero, Marine Pfc. Peter Piechorowski Jr. 20, who was killed in the fierce battle for the possession of Iwo Jima, Feburary 24, 1945. He died on his second return to the Pacific war area after a 30-day furlough after several major campains including Guadalcanal and Bougainville. He enlisted in the corp at the age of 17 years and was trained as a parachutist. His battalion received a presidential citation. He attended St. Stanislaus parochial school and Central High School. Surviving besides his parents are a sister Mrs. Al Mackowiak and two brothers Conrad & Virgil. Services will be held at St. Stanislaus B & M, with burial to follow at Ceder Grove Cemetery.
