SOUTH BEND - Judith A. Pieniazkiewicz, 75, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014, in her home. She was born on July 18, 1939, in Chicago, IL, to Miles and Genevieve Wiktor. At the age of 10 her parents moved the family to Peotone, IL, where she was raised and graduated high school. She went on to graduate from Murray State University, Murray, KY, in 1961, with a degree in Home Economics. On June 15, 1963, in the Cathedral of Holy Angels, Gary, IN, she married Ralph Pieniazkiewicz, who survives. She is also survived by her daughter, Valerie (Joe) Minder and her son, Ralph, Jr. (Beth) Pieniazkiewicz, both of South Bend; seven grandchildren, Karlie, Gracie, Trevor Teumac, Morgan Minder and Lillian, Lauren and Peter Pieniazkiewicz; her mother, Genevieve Wiktor of South Bend; three brothers, John (Marilyn) Wiktor of Crossville, TN, Raymond Wiktor of South Bend and Kevin (Darlene) Wiktor of Belleville, IL; a sister-in-law, Margaret (Bruce) Nurton of Edwardsburg, MI; and a nephew, Kyle Wiktor of Belleville, IL. Judith taught at Gary Public Schools, Mishawaka Public Schools, Marion High School, Beiger, Washington High School, and worked part time at L.S. Ayres. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. Judy was a wonderful wife, daughter, mother and sister and loved her grandchildren dearly. She was an avid sports fan when it came to her grandchildren's activities. She loved to bake and everyone loved her rhubarb pies. She also loved to sew draperies, curtains and pillows. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Tuesday, December 2, 2014, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, December 3, 2014, in St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Rd., South Bend, where friends may visit for one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation of South Bend or Cassopolis, MI or to the Hospice Foundation, Mishawawka.
