Arlene C. Kletka, 96, of Valparaiso, formerly of South Bend and Florida, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009 at home.
She was born May 30, 1913 in Bronson, MI to John Vincent and Esther (Lilly) Kehoe.
Arlene was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, and had retired from J.C. Penney as a seamstress. She was active with RSVP in South Bend where she was known for crocheting beautiful baby afghans.
Survivors include three children: Kathy (Richard) Condon of Valparaiso, Joyce (Wayne) Freed of South Bend, and Karen (Roger) Williams of Uniontown, OH; daughter-in-law, Yuki Kletka of South Bend; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mac Kletka in 2001; her son, Richard Kletka in 2009; and 13 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1511 LaPorte Ave., from 9:00 AM until time of the funeral mass at 11:00 AM., the Rev. Kevin McCarthy officiating with cremation to follow at Angelcrest Crematory.
Burial of ashes will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. Memorials may be made to VNA Hospice of Porter County or St. Teresa Ministry Life Center
