Anthony J. Florkowski, 87, of 712 S Walnut, died at 1pm Friday in St Josephs Hospital after an extended illness. He was former employee of the Bendix Corp.
He was born June 8, 1892, in South Bend and had lived all his life in the area. In 1913, he married Carrie Obarski, who died June 5, 1967. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Helene Stefanowicz of Surf-Side FL; a son, Joseph of South Bend; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and a brother, Frank of South Bend. Services will be at 10am Monday in St Casimir Catholic Church with Rev. Howard G. Kuhns, CSC, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today and from 2 to 9pm at the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30pm today. A parish rosary also will be recited at 7:30pm Sunday at the funeral home. He was a member of the ZB Falcons Nest No 80, Mruks Club and the Woodmen of the World.
