MISHAWAKA - Elayne M. Bajdek, 80, of Mishawaka, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015, in Hospice House, South Bend. She was born May 9, 1934, in South Bend, to the late Clem C. and Josephine C. (Barczykow-ski) Kucharski. On May 15, 1954, she married Leonard T. Bajdek, who preceded her in death on September 16, 1988. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Jo (Dennis) Bajdek-Slomski of Laguna Beach, CA; her sons, Gary M. (Kelly) Bajdek of New Carlisle, IN, and Todd A. Bajdek, Marshall Bajdek, Austin, Jayden and Jaquelyn Hanson. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved her cats, traveling, yoga, Facebooking, playing Candy Crush and, most of all, game night with her girlfriends. Elayne was compassionate, always giving of herself and her time volunteering at SJRMC and several other places over the years. Everybody who met Elayne adored her. She was a friend to all...Elayne you will be missed. The family would like to thank Sprenger, SJRMC (ICU, PCU and 6 Lake), as well as Hospice House for the excellent care they delivered. A special thanks to Dr. Zimmerman for helping the family through a very difficult time. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Sunday, February 22, 2015, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services for Elayne will be held at 10 am Monday at the funeral home.
