MISHAWAKA - Donna M. Cionek, 77, passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in the Center for Hospice Care in South Bend. Donna was born August 14, 1938 in Poland to the late Stanley and Henryka (Milek) Kryszczuk; and Donna lived in Poland until the age of ten. On April 27, 1957 Donna married her loving husband Richard Cionek; he preceded her in death on April 16, 2014. Survivors of Donna include her children, Theresa (Randy) Ciesiolka of South Bend, and Damian (Tonya) Cionek of Elkhart; grandchildren, Joshua Ciesiolka, and Kim (Rick) Stephens; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Blake Ciesiolka and Alexander Stephens; brother, Ziggie (Janis) Kryszczuk of South Bend and sister, Chris (Larry) Cole of Granger. Donna was on the Board of Directors with the Women's Auxiliary for St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for 4 years, and volunteered for 7 years at the Medical Center. She spent many years working election polls, selling Avon, and her favorite job was being a floral designer. Donna had a passion for bowling, dogs, birds and Hummingbirds. She attended Notre Dame Women's basketball games and watched Notre Dame Football games. She enjoyed dancing at events with Polka bands and cooking Polish food with family. Her favorite memories were of the many family gatherings, especially visits from Poland family members. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff and volunteers at The Center for Hospice Care for all their support, care and compassion shown to Donna and her family. Visitation for Donna will be 3-7pm on Sunday, October 25, 2015 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Monday the 26th at 10:00am in the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545 or Pet Refuge, 4626 S. Burnett Dr. South Bend, IN 46614.
