[N4784] Betty Ann Sebok
Oct. 4, 2012
SOUTH BEND - On October 4, 2012, God called his beloved daughter, Betty Ann Sebok (n©be Bodish), to her home in heaven. She lived 98 1/2 remarkable years cradled by the love of her family, friends and neighbors. Betty will once more walk hand in hand with her beloved Joe, who she married June 7, 1941, but who predeceased her far too soon (PFC Joseph Sebok, Purple Heart, killed in action November 19, 1944). Betty was dedicated to her family: loved and devoted mother of Ginger Flowers (son-in-law David, deceased November 2011) with whom she lived and was cared for; treasured grandmother of Joseph Lee (Chicago) and Lisa Jean (South Bend), for whom she lived every day. She was the last surviving member of the Bodish and Kuczor family; dear daughter of Steve and Elizabeth Bodish-Kuczor; dear sister of Mary Durski and Steve, Frank and Joseph Bodish; also surviving are in-laws, Joseph and Mary Sebok; sisters-in-law, Anne Romasz, Marge, Betty and Helen Bodish; brothers-in-law, John Iezzi, Frank Goncz and Stan Durski; nephews, Richard Bodish, Robert and William Goncz; and niece, Mary Goncz. Aunt Betty will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in the States as well as two sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and many more nieces & nephews in Canada, all of whom have shared many wonderful moments with her. Betty worked for over 25 years at Sobenite Plastics factory before retiring in 1974. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Battell Center, Daughters of Isabella, DAV Auxiliary, Harvest House, St. Therese Society and VFW Auxiliary. For over 40 years, Betty was a devoted member of St. Anthony De Padua Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her delicious Hungarian pastries, ceramics, needlework, tap dancing, and a lifetime of giving to others. Ever strong in her faith, the Sacrament of the Mass will be offered for her on Tuesday, October 9th, at 10 AM at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2114 E. Jefferson Blvd. Betty's family will receive friends at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 North Bendix Drive, on Monday, October 8th, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 6:30 PM, led by the Daughters of Isabella. Online condolences may be sent to Kaniewski.com. May she rest in eternal peace.
