Lillian Marie Riffel, 78, passed away on Thursday, September 9th, 2021, in LaPorte, Indiana. She was born in North Liberty, Indiana on March 11th, 1943 to Vernon and Mary Ann Shuppert who both preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, Andrew Riffel on October 28,1967. He survives with their daughter, Andrea (Tim) Stack, granddaughter, Madeline Stack, and sisters, Nancy Weaver, Linda Spagnola and Mary Shuppert. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by a sister, Johanna Cox. Lil was a member of the Porter Rae Cemetery Board of Directors and a room mother at Olive Elementary School, Choir and Band mom at New Prairie High School, and always present for any activities her daughter and granddaughter were involved with. She was on the Olive Township 4H Board in the 80s, and a member of the Class of 1961 North Liberty High School Reunion Committee. She was a mom to everyone, an excellent cook and loved the outdoors. Funeral services for Lillian will be held at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 South Mayflower Road, South Bend, Indiana on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 at 1:00pm where friends will be received from 11:00am until the time of the services on Tuesday. Burial will follow at Porter Rae Cemetery at Potato Creek State Park. The family has requested, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
