Additional information:
I have Michael's pension file. His parents are not from Ireland. His father is Charles Frederick Espich, born in Ragersville, Tuscarawas, Ohio. Charles married Sarah Jane Link in Ragersville and lived there until about 1867 then they headed to LInkville, Indiana. Note: Many Ragersville residents were encouraged to join the Seltonrights in Linkville when they left to start up a mill.

After Sarah Jane died, Charles went over to Well's county and married a former Ohio Girl and had seven more children with her. Charles was in the 51st OVI. Michael was in the Mexican war in 1861 Company K, 51st, O. V. I. and had several transfers, he was discharged June 1863 at Franklin, Tennessee from his first enlistment, which he enrolled at 15 years of age. He was also in G company of the 51st Jan 1862 and was discharged from his second enlistment at Feb 12, 1864 at Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
