After a life well-lived, Max Dale Schneider, 83, went home to be with Jesus at 7:45 pm on January 7th, 2022. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his devoted wife and children. He was born on September 18,1938 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Helen and Dale Schneider who preceded him in death. On September 24, 1960, Max married the love of his life, JoAnn Dittrich. They have four children, Denise Haley (Bill Nusbaum), Brian (Cindy) Schneider, Bruce (Robin) Schneider and Randy (Julie) Schneider. Max is also survived by his grandchildren, Taylor (Tanner), Matthew (Dylann), Blake, Connor, Drew, Aly (Tommy) Beckmann and Amanda (Jesse Hershberger); and two great grandchildren, Michael and Amelia. He has a brother Vaughn (Amy Burmeister) Schneider who survive as well. Max graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1956, spent time serving in the United States Army before settling back in Osceola. He worked for the railroad for many years. The majority of his career was spent as owner/operator of Schneider Auto Sales. He was fortunate enough to work many years with his son Brian by his side. Max was a loving and devoted husband. His favorite times were spent at Lake of the Woods teaching his grandkids how to ski, tube and fish. He was a constant at Penn sporting events starting as a member of the chain gang starting in the 60s and ending as a proud PawPaw. He loved Outlaws Super Late Model racing and was a huge supporter of the Inwood Racing Team. He seldom missed a race! He was a member of the Dowagiac Elks #889. He was a member of the Dowagiac United Methodist church. He loved vacationing in Florida, fishing at the lake, and he cherished time with his grandchildren. Family and friends will forever remember the life and celebrate the legacy of this selfless man who valued family above all else. Visitation will take place at Hahn Funeral Home 505 W. 8th St Mishawaka, IN 46544 on Saturday, January 15, 2022, from 4-6 pm, with a Memorial Service to take place at 6 pm.
