MISHAWAKA - Eugene Kanouse, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in the Kindred Hospital of Northern Indiana. Eugene was born July 24, 1925 in Elkhart. He is survived by his friend, Kimberly Kemper of Mishawaka; children, Keith (Susan) Kanouse, Kurt (Debbie) Kanouse, and Kent (Kristine) Kanouse; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Peg Watson. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents and a brother. Eugene honorably served his country in the United States Navy and then the Marines, and was a member of VFW Post 360. He was employed with General Motors for many years. Eugene enjoyed going for walks, watching birds, and his cats, Lucky and Morris. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.
