SOUTH BEND - Donald L. Nowak Sr, 74, passed away at 6:30 am Wednesday, June 18, 2014, in his residence. Don was born on July 21, 1939, in South Bend, to Walter and Lottie Nowak. He retired from Lock Joint Tube where he was employed for 32 years. Don was a member of the Calvert Rod & Gun Club and the West Side Democratic Club. On September 21, 1991, he married Linda Brugel who survives along with daughters, Donna Nowak and Tammy Hill, both of Syracuse; son, Troy (Wendy) Ferril of Mishawaka; 5 grandchildren; and a brother, Greg Kiska of Mishawaka. Don was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Nowak Jr, and two brothers, Jimmy Kiska and Richard Nowak. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, June 21st, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 South Kemble Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation.
