GRANGER - Joseph S. Magiera, 89, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015, in the Hospice House of St. Joseph County. Joe was born August 17, 1925, in Dowagiac, to the late Joseph & Louise (Taberski) Magiera. Joe was also preceded in death by a brother, Edmund F. Magiera. Survivors of Joe include nephews, Tim (Carol) Magiera and Mike (Judy Parmley) Magiera of South Bend; sister, Mary Magiera of South Bend; great-niece, Angela (Aaron) Culp of South Bend; great-great-nieces, Sophia Culp and Isabella Culp of South Bend. Joe honorably served his country in the United States Army. He retired from the Bendix Corporation where he was draftsman for over 40 years. Joe was a parishioner of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. He was very good-hearted; he always donated money to the food bank, American Heart Association , the Humane Society and many other organizations. Visitation for Joseph will be 9:00 am to 11:00 am Tuesday, May 26, 2015, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Rd., where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.
