SOUTH BEND - Helen J. Biegalski, 86, of Clearwater, FL and previously of South Bend, IN, died on May 6 at The Oaks of Clearwater Nursing Home after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born on May 17, 1924, in South Bend to Stanley and Antonia (Ruszkowski) Graykowski. Helen was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Kasprzak and Dorothy Krupa, and a brother Stanley Gray. On August 3, 1946, she married Leonard F. Biegalski, in South Bend. Leonard died on December 26, 1991. Helen is survived by a niece, Portia Gregor of Granger, IN, and by nephews Robert J. Kasprzak of Jones, MI and Gordon Gray of Jackson, WY. Helen was a 64 year member of the Daughters of Isabelle - Notre Dame Circle 572. She was a past member of the South Bend Power Squadron, the Michiana Kennel Club, and a past parishioner of Little Flower Catholic Church in South Bend. She retired from Key Bank in 1991. She spent her career working in the real estate industry. She had previously worked for Colpaert Realty in South Bend and Waterfield Mortgage in South Bend. Cremation took place in Clearwater, FL, and she was interred at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association .
