SOUTH BEND - Irene H. Golabowski, 101, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2013, New Year's Day. Irene was born September 28, 1911, in South Bend, to John & Mary (Rybacki) Chudzicki. On January 13, 1934, she married Erwin Golabowski, who preceded her in death on October 8, 1997. Irene is survived by many nieces & nephews. Irene was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church & the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. today, January 3, 2013, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana, where a parish Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
